What are vaginal skin tags?

I went to see my GP today because last week when i was on my period the tampon i was using somehow turned round an i had to ferrit t get it out. Whilst i was getting it out i felt like a spot on my cervix so i was quite concerned and made an appointment to see the doctor. I went to see her today and she said she wanted to do an examination so i went to the treatment where she came to examine me. I was sooo embarased. I ended up with the nurse, my GP and then another GP who had decided to come and observe as mine was training. They did the examination all three of them lookin up my flu and discussing amongst them selves what they thought and my GP said it was some sort of cyst which she explained and i am fine with, but while the were doing the examination they were all commenting on my "vaginal skin tags". i was sooo embarassed by this point i didn't like to ask what they were. But now i wih i had. They obviously are nothing to worry about or they would of said but what are they?

I believe that they are leftover bits of your hymen.
Reply:Here is a website that defines them. They are apparently common in women who have had children.
