Looks like skin tags around the babies rectum?

My son has what looks like numerous skin tags around his rectum..does anyone know what this may be? We took him to a doctor, who said it looked like some sort of warts that would go away...their not going away their getting worse..it bleeds when we wipe him. Help!

I have never seen this or heard of this. It sounds like the other responses are correct in recommending you go to a dermatologist or get a second opinion. Hopefully they are not hemmorhoids, those don't ever go away either. Just be sure to wipe gently after each diaper change and try to keep the area clean and protected. Maybe a thin layer of nursery jelly after each "poopy" diaper may alleviate some of the discomfort your baby must be feeling.

Reply:Try taking him to a dermatologist. They specialize in skin so they might be able to give you more answers. I would at least call one to see if they could help.
Reply:I'd seek a second opinion, I have four kids and have never seen anything like that. And with four kids I feel like I'm always running to the doctor, get used to it! Good luck.
Reply:Since when do warts go away? Warts are a virus that never go away. They may come and go but the virus is always in the system. I suggest having them removed.

Reply:I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU THAT CAN HELP...but, my daughter, now 3 has 1 "skin tag" there also. The dr. said that is all it is..."A SKIN TAG"...HE DIDNT TELL ME WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT OR ANYTHING. So, If you find out...post it. Good luck.
