Skin tags on Vaginal Area....Help?!?

I am embarassed as heck about this, and I do not want to particularly say anything to the doctor. (Granted I will call her tomorrow). Everyone says getting them removed is fairly painful and I would imagine even more down there. Has anyone ever had one removed from there. i want it off more for it being irritating than cosmetic.

Skin tags on Vaginal Area....Help?!?
This may sound a little crazy BUT I have gotten rid of them by tying them with a piece of thread.

First, clean the area with something antibacterial - like alcohol, etc. Take a piece of thread, wrap it around the skin tag and tie it very tightly in a double knot. It is the cutting off of blood flow to the skin tag that makes it harden and fall off in a few days.

I've not done it in the "area" you have them but I have done this on my neck, arms, underarms, etc. It is easier if you hold the skin tag out with a pair of tweezers and let someone else tie the thread. It does sting for just a minute when the thread is tied, but that passes and you do not even realize that there is anything there.

Good luck!
Reply:I did have 3 small skin tags removed from just below my vaginal opening. My sister had two removed. Her's were frozen off and mine were cut off. Both were numbed, quick and painless but both hurt a bit afterwards. She had to wait about 5-6 weeks before she could have intercourse without pain and I had to wait about 3-4 weeks. I had minor bleeding and minor pain when I wiped after urinating or deficating. The pain was only persistent for the first 24hrs or so then it was just if I really stretched the area or wiped after bathroom use. It wasn't so bad and totally worth it to have them removed.
Reply:what in the heck are skin tags???
Reply:I'm sorry Destiny I just don't know what skin tags are.

Can you freeze SKIN TAGS like you do warts,I have a SKIN tag about 1/2 long on my inside leg.?

I am not sure about freezing them -- but I know I have heard of people having doctors tie monofiliment (fishing line or nylon thread) around them to cut off the blood supply and the tag will "die" and drop off.

I, too, have tags, but on my neck and underarms, not thigh. I haven't tried this remedy, but you could try if you were going to freeze them -- what's the difference?

Can you freeze SKIN TAGS like you do warts,I have a SKIN tag about 1/2 long on my inside leg.?
I have had a number of skin tags frozen off by the doctor and was advised that if I wanted to I could treat them with the same products available to freeze warts. Report It

Skin tags..... Every once in a while I get, what my girlfriends calls, "skin tags" popping up.........

.... and rather stupidly I tend to remove them myself. What are they? are they dangerous??

Skin tags..... Every once in a while I get, what my girlfriends calls, "skin tags" popping up.........
I get them on my neck where they are made sore by the catching on my necklace. I tie a hair tightly around them to cut off the blood supply, as my mum showed me and her mum showed her, they soon go black and fall off! I believe they are called 'filiform warts' and are very common on the face and neck and are nothing to worry about.
Reply:You can get the doctor to freeze them off. I do.
Reply:without a picture or a more detailed description, it'd be hard to tell what it is. You shouldn't remove something that pops up on your skin. Rather, you should get it checked out by a dermatologist. It could be more dangerous than you think, but you should let the doctor determine that.
Reply:No, they're not dangerous. I've got a couple myself. Apparently you can tie cotton around them and they will drop off, or you can get the doctor to remove them.

Am interested to know how you remove yours yourself? Is it with cotton? Want to get rid of mine so let us know please!
Reply:They are more a nuisance than anything else. However, removing them yourself opens you to the risk of bleeding, scarring, and infection as well as a telling off from your girlfriend! If they are catching on your clothing or are unsightly, your GP will arrange for their removal; otherwise just leave them be.
Reply:yes they are probably skin tags. Kinda like moles.

My son gets them too and he removes some of them himself.

Not a good idea though.
Reply:You are completely off your trolley...you should never remove anything like that even a skin tag. You may just be disturbing those cells that are best left dormant.

Go and get them checked out at the doctors or your pratice nurse. Though you may feel stupid or foolish bothering the doctor he will appreciate the fact that he does not have a rival on his hands who can perform minor surgery with a craft knife or wart remover.
Reply:U freak you disgust me. Anyway - tell your bird to mind her own business and keep her opinions to herself. After all her peer pressure makes you remove them yourself, and well, you could get cancer!

Take a piece of thin thread and tie it as tight as you can around the base of the skin tag. Cut the excess off and leave it alone. In a day or two the thing will just fall off because no blood is getting to it.

It really works I've done it a few times.
Reply:You can cut them off with a sharp pair of manicure scissors. Put some alcohol on the spot first, snip it off close to the skin, and hold gauze to stop the bleeding. Then again put on some alcohol. If they are large, you can ask your doctor or a dermatologist to do it. It stings a bit, but then they are gone...only to find another. Welcome to old age.
Reply:Go see a dermatologist for advice. Most doctors freeze them off if they are suspect for skin cancer. Do not cut them off yourself. If they are suspect the doctor will have them biopsied (checked) for cancer. As you get older your skin needs more shelter from the sun. Wear sunscreen SPF 30 or more. Wear a wide brim hat, long sleeves, and avoid the midday sun.
Reply:Dermatologist. My husband has a few and they told him it would cost around $100.00 to have them removed. They actually have an amount...it's like up to 13, I think for the price. He doesn't have near that many and didn't think it was worth it. But men usually aren't as bothered by things like this as women are. So find a good dermatologist. I've never heard of any "do it yourself" remedies for skin tags, lol. Good luck!
Reply:my family practice doctor just froze off six of them for me. just ask your doctor or dermatologist to remove them. Mine were in the way of my bra strap and I kept scratching them.

What's the name and purpose of the skin tags on each side of our lips, inside the mouth?

We accidentally bite these little soft skin nubs but what are they called and what is their purpose? I have serached some sites and haven't found anything useful to me. Any clues?

What's the name and purpose of the skin tags on each side of our lips, inside the mouth?
I don't know the names, but it is just extra skin allowing you to smile or open your mouth. Without it, the inside of your mouth would tear.

Can I get rid of my skin tags by tying them with string?

I hate them!!! can i just remove them like that.. will they get black and die??will this affect my health or skin in any way?/ thanks

Can I get rid of my skin tags by tying them with string?
A skin tag is a medical issue. For that you go to a dermatologist. The doctor will remove it and routinely have it checked for any malignancies. He will see to it that you don't get any infections. This is not a "do-it-yourself" condition for you to "strangle it to death" with a string that others have suggested you do. You deserve better.
Reply:I do the same thing - tie them off with thread. In a few days they turn black and fall off. No negative effects.
Reply:i think you may be better off going to a doctor and having them suggest something a little more sanitary :-) ... if it's a money issue....try the health dept...it may take a while but surely they have dermatologists there.. if you MUST try the string thing...use some kind of triple antibiotic ointment (you can get cheap walmart brand) and watch for signs of infection....redness, swelling or other changes

Has anyone ever heard the term skin tags?

They are small growths of skin usually under the arm or on the neck.

Does it hurt to remove them, will it bleed ?

Has anyone ever heard the term skin tags?
It depends on the size of the tags. If they are VERY small you may be able to shave it off at home with a new razor and it may hurt a little. If it is VERY small and you do shave it off then it may bleed a little, as if you had nicked yourself shaving. If you are concerned, you can see a doctor to have them removed. You do not necessarily need to see a dermatologist, a family doctor or internal medicine doctor should be able to help you.
Reply:Have a dermatologist remove them. It's usually painess, but they should be examined to make sure that they are benign.
Reply:Well, you're supposed to have a dermatologist remove them. But it's usually so much hassle because insurance won't cover them, because they are cosmetic. So I have removed them myself with a razor blade. But I know you shouldn't. yes, it hurts and yes they bleed.
Reply:yes, quite common, a doc can take them off painless. I just twist them around like a twist tye a little at a time .cuts off the blood and they dry up and fall up
Reply:Is a skin tag a tumor?

Yes, it is in the sense that it is a growth. However, it is a benign (harmless and not a malignant) condition.

How are skin tags treated?

In cases in which a skin tag is irritated or cosmetically unwanted, treatment may be done by freezing the tag with liquid nitrogen, tying off the tag with a thread or suture so as to cut off the blood supply, or cutting off (excising) the tag with a scalpel or scissors.
Reply:I heard using a nail clipper to clip them off like is easy and rather painless. They usually go completely away if you cut off most of it.
Reply:I have tied a piece of thread around skin tags near my boyfriends underarm. I tied it tight, and within about 4 days, they lost their blood flow and simply fell off. He said it was painless, but he is a man and maybe he cannot admit to feeling pain!
Reply:Tying them off is what we do here in the hospital. My husband's doctor said that there was no problem tying them off ourselves at home if the base is small enough.

I have what a doctor called "skin tags". Can I just tie thread around them and wait for them to fall off?

They are small growths of skin.

I have what a doctor called "skin tags". Can I just tie thread around them and wait for them to fall off?
What you can do is tie something thin and strong around them, like a strand of hair, strong thread, fishing string, you get the idea. Pull and tie it tight, it will kinda burn, because the circulation is being cut off. Eventually, it will dry up and fall off. The bigger ones are worse. When you see tiny ones beginning to form, scratch them off.
Reply:Please, don't put your health in the hands of an amateur forum. Respect your mind and body. Consult your doctor.

How to rid myself of skin tags at home?

They are on my neck. They are usually removed at the doctor's using a numbing cream and sharp scissors. It is rather silly to pay $80 for 15 to be removed and $40 for every 10 tags.

How to rid myself of skin tags at home?
Tie a peice of thread tightly around the base of the tag. It will cut off the blood supply and the skin tag will just fall off. It takes a day or so but it really works.
Reply:Dear I wannago:

Yes, skin tags are quite cumbersome, ugly, and certainly expensive to get rid of...

The best method is to take them all off in a single session with liquid nitrogen, used by a dermatoligist ...expensive?

Perhaps, but that depends on the part of the Country in which you live....

You see, surgery at home, has at least two risks in your case: the first one is incomplete excision, (Language)espacially if you are using fine scissors, even cuticle scissors.....and the tags will return in no time.

The second is local infection ( no matter how well you wash and disinfect your surgical tools).

The best idea is to ask from your physician to take them all off in a single sesion, and to provide you with a corticoid cream to a void re-appearence of such spots or tags (lesions)...
Reply:i use "freeze away" wart remover. it works.
Reply:I suggest going to the doctor, anyway, even though it may seem unneccesarily expensive. Here are the reasons: Infection, even if you are careful, there is a much greater chance of infection doing it yourself; Improper removal, in which it could actually be worsened; Scarring, ugly scar if you take off too much; If there was some unpredictable bleeding that couldn't be stopped as planned, a more expensive trip to the hospital; Lack of knowledge, what if one was cancerous? You'd want to know so you could be sure it was looked at, and you had proper follow up, but if you remove it yourself, you wouldn't know, and might not catch the possible skin cancer before it gets worse. Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to medical procedures, even minor ones.
Reply:Actually yes Tulscif has the general idea there!

To aid yourself in the pain free department through try putting on a general over the counter cream onto your skin tag %26amp; then try clipping it off.

Be warned, doing it on your own maybe really painful!!

Ambesol for adults is a great freezing gel, cream or liquid, I used it last Jan for a root canal %26amp; when it acccidently got onto my fingers it froze them for at least 5 minutes each time.

What to do about skin tags?

What would cause them to start popping up all over? I've had a few before but it seems like lately I see several around my neck and chest area that are coming out of nowhere. My skin has been very dry and itchy lately too, any connection?

What to do about skin tags?
I've had a couple of tags for years and not had any problems, but if you are seeing a sudden large number appear I'd see a dermatologist.

Getting older, getting skin tags.?

Are there any safe methods for taking the tags off from home. If not does anyone know how much a dermatoligist charges?

Getting older, getting skin tags.?
Use a nail clipper, peroxide and a bandaid. Do not use the string theory!
Reply:it can be pretty safe because skin tags are just that...skin. There is usually no vessels or anything in he way..so just cut it...BUT, make sure it is sterile. I used to work at a surgeons office, and we'd have these disposable scissors..so, i'd just cut it right off...really quick and easy. If you have a lot, I'd suggest have a dermatologist look at it. Skin tags aren't just when you get old..i had a skin tag at 17

Hidious! I know that these are not skin cancer, But my son in law has several and wants to get rid of them without having to see a dermatologist..any ideas?

What causes skin tags and are there any home remedies to get rid of these ugly things.?
He will need to go to the dermatologist to have them burned off. They will bleed heavily if you try to remove them at home and they will return.
Reply:My brother used to cut them off with toenail clippers.

No matter how you get rid of them (even at the doctor's office) they will keep coming back. I have had them taken off at the dermatologist's by an electric needle and it hurts like hell, then after about a year they are back.
Reply:i have them too but i'm to chicken to take care of them myself. he can use an otc freeze for warts or, the more painful option would be to clip them with very sharp scissors or clippers. be ready for some blood though. honestly, i'd see the doc. quick and easy.
Reply:I know he may not want to, but I think seeing a doctor is the best bet. If you try to do it yourself and cut it off, it will bleed every where for ever ((well, it seems like it)).

It's not worth it, cause it hurts, bleeds, can leave a scar, and it'll most likely come back. Go see a professional. They now what they're doing.

Where do skin tags come from?

those little rolly pieces of skin that are not moles.

Where do skin tags come from?
Cutaneous (skin)tags are very common benign skin growths that occur most often after midlife. The tags stick out of the skin, and may have a small narrow stalk connecting the skin bump to the surface of the skin. Cutaneous tags are usually painless and do not grow or change. However, they may be irritated from rubbing by clothing or other materials. Cutaneous skin tags are more common in people who are overweight or who have diabetes.
Reply:Fat
Reply:they are a kind of wart (caused by a virus).

I almost flipped when I found out they are warts. The GOOD news, however, is that if you use wart remover on the very base, you make them go away. You'll be left with a small brown spot where the tag was but it will eventually fade away.
Reply:Hello SaltyTina, Skin tags are common for obese people and people that are over the age of 35. A skin tag occurs near or around flaps of skin. For example,,,, near armpit, by vagina lips, near scrotum, a persons eyelid, and in between the legs close to the groin area. They are just long stems of skin that are moblie and not painful. The only time they are irritated is when they are rubbing against clothing or another body part. They can be removed by a Gynecologist. Usually the methods are using a sharp pair of medical scissors, putting a person to sleep and either burning them off or using liquid nitrogen to freeze them off. The liquid nitrogen is the most painful of the 3 ways of removal.

I have skin tags around my eyes. One eye has a big patch of them, how do I remove them?

My left eye has a mass of them that are starting to sprout. They are too small and close to the skin to tie anything around them or to clip them, some I can clip, but most are very small and at the starting stages. Most annoying and as they get bigger I feel self conscious about them. Please advise.

Stop eating egg yolks, and animal fat. Breast of chicken ,skinless is good, you have cholesterol deposits, and they are growing and clogging your arteries . the ,"skin tags", will go away, and as they begin to disappear you will know that it's working.your arteries will clear- and if you are like me you will still be here in a few years, ignore this free advice and YOU ARE KILLING YOURSELF. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HEALTH.
Reply:i have one under m arm pit and i hate it. You need to have it professionally removed by a dermatologist.

What causes "skin tags," and does anyone have any ideas to get rid of/avoid them?

Those pesky little "tags" you get on your neck, other areas... They don't hurt, or seem to cause any major problems, but look bad and seem to multiply.........

What causes "skin tags," and does anyone have any ideas to get rid of/avoid them?
Skin tags are a part of the process of aging usually, throw in some genetics, they are for the most part harmless. a good dermatologist can can spray them with a solution something like dry ice and they will be gone. the worst problem I've seen with them is getting caught on clothes or such and getting ripped off.
Reply:My father uses wart remover on his, which seems to work for him. The way i do it is to twist them in one direction a little each day. Eventually, the blood supply to the skin tag is constricted and the skin dies. The tag shrivels and you can just peel it away. It stings a little bit when twisting (as though the skin is being cut slightly), but that has proven the most effective for me! I've also heard of people clipping them right off with nail clippers but that seems like the most painful route!
Reply:I saw a segment on tv about skin tags and the doctor on it recommended the easiest way to safely remove them was to tie a piece of string or fishing wire around it. This will cut off the blood supply if left on for a day of two and they will soon drop off. Haven't tried it yet but it's on my list of things to try.

Strange skin ' tags' on my feet?

I have several tags on my feet but they are more like grains of sand. If I cut them off, they grow back. Does anyone know what they might be and how I can take them off permanently myself?

Strange skin ' tags' on my feet?
You would need to see your doctor to determine what it is exactly, so he can give you the proper treatment.
Reply:"Skin flags" are caused from irritation and can be found anywhere on the body.

The other thing I would suspect would be plantar fasitous. If the skin is painful and not entirely gone once cut off - it's probably that. This can be taken care of with the assistance of a doctor and is treated in a similar was to warts.

If your GP can't remove them, a laser specialist probably could.

I don't recommend doing it yourself if they're well established.

If they're relatively new and small you might try to just pull them or scratch them off.

I've gotten rid of the few that developed on my body that way.

Follow up to question: I agree with another poster to your question that while Earthclinic.com is a great site, I would not risk their remedies regarding your eye area. My apologies for not considering this before answering your question fully.
Reply:No, you actually have to go to the doctor and get them cut off. It is minimal pain and does not take that long, and it is not surgery!

Also I checked out Earthclinic.com and it seems safer just to go to the doctor then mess around with your body with homeade cures.

could be std herpes, but it can also probably be a fungus related incident, or even a bad allergy to something.

While waiting for doc appointment you can use a soft soap (like dove or a neutral based cleanser) do not use perfumed talcs or same, be clean and keep area rid of moisture.

Hope all is well.

Tie a hread around it tightly and let it dry up and drop off. It worked for me and that is how my grannie did them 100 years ago.

Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?

I am aware that a preferable option would be to go to a dermatologist to have them cut out or burned off - but that's considered a cosmetic procedure by my insurance so I'd have to pay out of pocket, and that ain't gonna happen. I have been reading up on the home-remedy methods of skin tag removal and this one sounds the most up my alley (if you tie a string around one tight until it falls off, doesn't that, like, HURT a lot? or pinch constantly??) - so if you've ever done this or know anyone who has, tell me your personal experiences!

Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?
I've only ever used New Skin to cover open wounds like a Band Aid. It provides a waterproof protective barrier to keep germs and dirt out. Maybe you're thinking of a wart remover like Compound W?
Reply:I got rid of the skin tags under my arm using a product that also got rid of a few moles that I was also worried. It softens the tough cell walls of unhealthy skin so your body's immune system can destroy the unhealthy cells. You only have to apply it 3 times in 24 hours. It did hurt a little for a bout an hour. Not bad though. It turned a dark color and fell off in about 5 days. I ordered it from LifeLineLLC@yahoo.com It was a little expensive... about $90... but like I said I also got rid of several moles I was worried about too... so it was worth it.

Is this genital warts? or skin tags?

Ok, so i know the best option is to go see a doctor, so don't tell me something I don't already know. But I just want some piece of mind about this before I do.

I've had a small bump near the opening to my vagina. It's been there ever since I can remember. Well recently I was in the shower and while washing I noticed the bump was a little bigger. It just kind of scratched off too. It sort of looked like three little cells stuck together. It didn't hurt, and it came off easy like a skin tag. I have looked at pictures all over the internet and it looks nothing like all the scary pictures of warts. I mean, this thing was TINY and not red, and not sore, didn't itch. Well it came back again and like before, it just sort of scratched off. It doesn't hurt when it comes off. I think I found another one now in the crease where my thigh connects.

Can anyone help? Maybe someone who has warts and knows what they are like?

I'm not promiscuous either. Neither is the bf. So I'm dumbfounded

Is this genital warts? or skin tags?
If you shave then rest easy its probably a skin tag just like the ones almost everone gets in their armpits and it will keep coming back unless you have a doctor freeze it off.If you had warts or herpes then you would probably have more than one lone bump. If it makes you feel better I got a skin tag in the same spot and I freaked out forever and when finally I got my pap the doctor didn't say anything so I pointed it out and he said thats just a skin tag I was so relieved. Anyways after a while it just really didn't bother me anymore. but ya if its small and just slightly darker than the color of your skin its probably a skin tag. Hope I helped, try not to stress and you should still see a doctor if for nothing more than you're peace of mind.

Reply:I know of the one in the crease where your panty line passes close between your legs. it gets swollen when the panty is to tight.
Reply:all warts come in a varitety of sizes and they all look different but again it doesnt mean thats what it is it could just be a little acne down their or a growth now go to the doctor and if you tell the doctor you dont want it discussed with your parents they cant since you are 18 they do not have to be informed of any condition you have as long as you carry your own insurance card you will be fine good luck also it could be a heat rash if more pop up there are several different things though

Forget the sting, thread and scissors!!!!

I put a drop of clove oil on mine each day. After a few days, it turned blood red. A day or two later it fell off.

There was no infection, no blood, and no scar. You can get clove oil at health food stores.

Avoid putting it on later in the day, because the aroma will keep you awake. I found out the hard way.

Good luck and be well.

Reply:This question was asked several days ago, and one of the answers that would fit your situation is to get someone to tie a thread around the base of the tag, to cut off the blood supply. After a few days - maybe a week - the tag should have died and should almost fall off.
Reply:I have used scissors (even a small nail scissors works). They bleed terribly, but after the bleeding stops I put neosporin on and keep the area clean. It's probably not the smartest thing to do, but it works...
Reply:An old worker told me his method. Tie a thread on one and when you pull cut it off. I was able to do it and they stayed away as much as when the doctor did it for way too much money. As you pull the feeling is gone as the nerve stretches. But it only do one per week as it needs to heal.
Reply:I also have them and have done this before myself. Take a thread and tie it around the tag, pull it really tight. (This cuts of the blood circulation and it dies and eventually falls off) Leave the thread on it until it is dead and dry(yuck I know). It will get really sore the first day or so so cover it with a band aid. If it is really a tiny one it may be too small for this method. Also it will not bleed.
Reply:As with the others, I've heard tie a small thread around the base, choking off the blood supply.

But I'd call a dermatologist and ask if it's ok. Or even a family Dr. just to be safe.

Let me know if it works. You can by my guinea pig.
Reply:I know many people that have just twisted them off. I am guessing that would hurt, but it works, and then the obvious, clean it, put antibacterial ointment on it and bandage.
Reply:The best thing to do is go and see your family physician and they can remove them for you it doesn't hurt.if you do it yourself your at risk at infecting the site and could lead to greater problems than you had bargain for.trust me on this i used to help the physician remove skin tags all the time.
Reply:LET IT BE! dont do n e thing to it URSELF. Get a dermatologist when you can afford one, remember skin tags are benign, so they arnt cancerous! so dont try anything yourself you will just hurt yourself more. so be PATIENT!! untill you can afford a dermatologist, if i were you i would forget about it :) , hope this helps!

How to remove skin tags?

Hi all i have a skin tag under my armpit and eveytime i save my underarm it hurts is there any home remiedes that i can ue to get rid of them with out having to go the doctor

How to remove skin tags?
you can get wart remover and freeze it off or use salicylic acid on it
Reply:Laser
Reply:Your going to think this is weird, get a friend, spouse, significant other to tie a piece of dental floss around it as close to the base as possible, tie it tight, it doesnt really hurt, give it about five minutes or so, then cut it off. It will bleed a bit, not much, clean with peroxide, put a bandaid with neosporin on it for a day or so. Presto its gone. I had asked this same question on another site, this was the advice I got. I had one right on my bra line under my breast, my bra rubbed it and it hurt. So I did the dental floss thing and now its no longer a problem, and it didnt really hurt to cut it off. Good Luck.
Reply:burn them ,with a red hot poker
Reply:well, when you go to the doc for those they clip them off and use a cauterizing ointment. it would be a little painful but i guess you could do the same with some sharp scissors or clippers. make sure they're clean and sterilized though. personally, i'd see the doc. i'm to chicken to do it myself.
Reply:If it is large enough, tie a hair tightly around the neck of it and knot it. (not so tight that it hurts,) Leave it on for a few days, and when the hair gets loose, (as the neck gets smaller) tie another one around it. It will fall off in three to five days. (The same thing works for moles. Otherwise, some people pull the tiny flags off with their fingernails, or use a fingernail clipper to remove it.
Reply:One of the basic ways to remove a skin tag is using hydroxyl acid to loosen the skin tag and then removing it. Copper peptide is used to rebuild the skin damaged by the skin tag. This method has been very successful in removing skin tags, however irritation caused by this method has made it difficult to use. This process should be repeated daily and within a few weeks your skin tag will go away.

Tying off skin tags?

When you tie off a skin tag, how long does it stay swollen and painful for before it dries up and falls off? I tied it off two days ago, and at the minute it's very swollen and tender. How long should I expect it to take to dry up and fall off? It's fairly large, about 0.5cm in diameter.

Tying off skin tags?
Ive never heard of tying off, and I am not sure about the answer, but you just gave me a great idea on how to get rid of them. PS: I cant believe people dont know what a skin tag is!
Reply:what the hell is a skin tag??
Reply:I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but go see a doctor.
Reply:that sounds awfully big to tie off. you might have been better off going to your doctor. the best ones to tie off have a tiny stalk.
Reply:Hmmm, unfortunately I had my skin tag removed when I was a baby. As far as I know, it shouldn't be swollen or tender. If done correctly, it should have no feeling because of loss of sensation and numbness. I'd see your doctor.
Reply:I've never heard of a "skin tag" in my life.
Reply:Don't do that. You could get an infection that way. See a dermatologist.
Reply:I wouldn't do that at home, you should go see a doctor!

Reply:You should go to a dermatologist who will use laser beams to get rid of the skin tags - I had quite a few and I got rid of them because of the dermatologist.

You might get them infected if you yourself try to remove them.
Reply:Really I think it takes like a week, my dad used to get them. Really I'ld just lance the thing off with a razer if I were you.
Reply:That can't be the best way to deal with it. I thing the best way is to go to the Doctor and have them freeze/burn it off with liquid nitrogen. If you don't want to do that, I suggest you buy the sharpest knife you can find, as close to a scalpel as possible, and cut it off just as a surgeon would. Make sure you sterilize the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, and hold an ice cube up to it beforehand to numb it and minimize any swelling or bleeding.
Reply:I don't think this is something you should do yourself...

If you are experiencing pain and swelling, you need to see your doctor.

Skin tags can easily be removed in a matter of seconds at the doctor's office.

Attempting to do this yourself can cause infection and chances are that if you already have swelling and pain, you could already have an infection going on.

I can't believe that people have never heard of a skin tag! Maybe they should Google it!

Reply:You really shouldn't be attempting to do this at home, you could develop an infection. And that would be much worse than just a swollen, tender area. See a doctor. I know skin tags are gross and some can be painful depending on location, but home treatment just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Any advice on removal of skin tags?

I am growing a small size skin tag right under my eye. It is small at the moment, but I have had this for about 5 mos. Every time I look at it, the skin tag appears to be getting larger. I would like to know is there anything I can do about this to remove it without damaging my skin? Please help.

Any advice on removal of skin tags?
I had one removed there just about 4 months ago. Just go to your doctor and he/she may be able to do it. They will just take a pare of sterile clippers and snip it off. You should let them to it, I know people who have done it at home but I would not advise it. If it bleeds some they can zap it with a little thing that will seal up the wound and stop it from bleeding. It should take all of like 5 minutes for them to do it. It is no big deal.
Reply:I'm certain an MD would remove it and you would heal fine in a few months or less - anyone whose tried to remove them with something - ended up in dire need of more help.

Also they are full of some blood so having an MD do it is your best safest bet. See a skin doctor (dermatologist)
Reply:Suggest going to a dermatologist and have the skin tag removed. Most skin tags people can remove themselves, but it isn't recommended because of infection. However, in your case since it is under your eye, I highly recommend seeing a doctor.

Removal shouldn't hurt your skin and you won't notice the area where it was removed in a few days.
Reply:Go to the dermatologist. They will take them off then and their.

Is it normal for skin tags to have a discharge or to bleed?

I have been diagnosed by the doctor as having an anal skin tag. However, this is causing me pain and discomfort, as well as producing an unusual discharge that is orange/pink. It also bleeds sometimes. Is this normal for a skin tag, or would it best if I went to another doctor for a second opinion? I am also worried it might be cancer.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it normal for skin tags to have a discharge or to bleed?
A discharge usually indicates an infection. Bleeding can be a sign of cancer, but not necessarily. You may want to consult your doctor concerning having your anal skin tag surgically removed. This will eliminate the pain and discomfort, as well as the possibility that the skin tag may turn cancerous.
Reply:You need to see a doctor ASAP.

"Skin tags themselves are harmless. They are not a type of skin cancer, and they do not turn into cancer. But sometimes a more serious condition can mimic a benign growth. It's important to seek treatment from a doctor if: The tag bleeds or becomes irritated and does not heal. The tag changes shape or color. The skin around the tag appears discolored or irritated. "

It could very well be an external hemorrhoid.

Will skin tags go away or do they need to be treated?

I recently noticed skin tag like things on my vaginal area and am wondering if this is an STD or can they appear from heat? Will they go away or do they need to be treated and if so how?

Will skin tags go away or do they need to be treated?
If it is a true skin tag - it will need to be removed.
Reply:Have your gynecologist look at them. She might send you to a dermatologist. Skin tags, I don't believe, are caused by heat. As far as I know, they don't go away on their own. Normally, the have to be burned and cauterized.
Reply:if what you have is a skin tag, then it is most likely harmless. My son had one by his ear. I had it surgically removed for cosmetic reasons. It posed no threat. They won't go away and it is considered cosmetic
Reply:Well, I had one on my side, and I took a razor blade and cut it off. But if you are concerned, you should go to a dermatologist.
Reply:They have to be removed by a dermatologist.
Reply:"A skin tag is a common, benign condition which consists of a bit of skin that projects from the surrounding skin and may appear attached to the skin. Skin tags can vary quite a bit in appearance. They may be smooth or irregular, flesh colored or more deeply pigmented, and either simply be raised above the surrounding skin or have a stalk (a peduncle) so that the skin tag hangs from the skin.

Where do skin tags occur?

Skin tags can occur almost anywhere there is skin. However, favorite areas for tags are the eyelids, neck, armpits (axillae), upper chest, and groin.

Who tends to get skin tags?

They are much more common with age beginning in middle age and they tend to be somewhat more prevalent in women than men.

Is a skin tag a tumor?

Yes, it is in the sense that it is a growth. However, it is a benign (harmless and not a malignant) condition.

What does a skin tag look like under a microscope?

The outer layer of the skin (the epidermis) shows overgrowth (hyperplasia) and it encloses an underlying layer of skin (the dermis) in which the normally-present collagen fibers appear abnormally loose and swollen.

What problems do skin tags cause?

Usually none. This tiny skin growth generally causes no symptoms unless it is repeatedly irritated as, for example, by the collar or in the crotch.

Is there another medical name for a skin tag?

A skin tag is medically also termed a cutaneous papilloma or an acrochordon. However, a skin tag is best known as a skin tag."

Reply:They occur spontaneously as we get older. As do moles and other skin irregularities. If they bother you, are painful or change in color or texture, I suggest you get them looked at by a physician. Other than that, most of them are harmless.

Genital skin tags?

My girlfriend recently confided she has a genital skin tag about the size of a pea. She had it (smaller size) about 2 years ago and had scratched it off. However, it reappeared and its bigger. Not that it hurts or anything but its embarrassing especially since she is in for a potential relationship. We tried searching for natural remedies but not sure if they are safe and effective. Maybe you guys have tried something that worked? Any natural cures that we can try?

Send her to her Ob/Gyn for a consultation. He will be able to recommend a treatment or refer her to a dermatologist that could remove the "critter" at its root.
Reply:this was on a tv program, spa of embarssing illnesses the other week, there was ones on someones arm and all they did was tie a thin piece of string around it and tied it tightly, apparently they just drop off if you leave the string there for a while. it may be on channel 4's website
Reply:Have them "burned" off with a lazer at the Dr's office.
Reply:Long story made short.... my boyfriend had a - what he thought- skin tag. It was small at first and then he picked at hit and it go big and started to hurt. he went to the doctor and it was a wart. Warts start off looking like "skin tags" but when irritated starts to hurt and take the shape of a wart. But she sounds like she has a bigger problem if it is on or around her genitals. She should go to the gyno and find out what it is... remember genitals warts can be burnt off but you can still get more warts and transfer to sexual partners. Tell her to be careful and to have protected sex until she finds out what it is for sure.
Reply:I get skin tags under my arm pits. They usually just fall off by themselves, but you can tie a string around it. Check out this website. It helped me.

Skin tags (?) on dog?

My dog has a skin-tag on his face that's been there for months, but now we saw a bunch on his "elbows"--what

is that??? Thanks.

Skin tags (?) on dog?
It is what it is, Its just nature. My dog has a bunch under its elbows. We took her into the vet and there is no cure, Its not harmfull or anything, There is however a process of removing them that they do at the vets.
Reply:a bone=]
Reply:My dog has this as well, I'm gonna follow this question hopeful for an answer as well. Thanks.
Reply:They may be sebaceous cysts and are easily removed by a vet. They are caused by viruses. They can be ignored, usually without consequence, but if the dog rubs and irritates them, that can lead to licking and chewing, hot spots, and infection. Let a vet take a look at them and tell you whether or not you should be concerned.
Reply:Oh better goto a doctor
Reply:People get them too. Not a big deal, just a side-effect of aging.
Reply:take him to a vet, would u ignor them if they were popping up all over your body?
Reply:Just excess skin, my dog has them and we get them frozen off with liquid nitrogen at the vet. You can buy home kits for that but i would recommend the vet.
Reply:i think its just skin tags but not sure ask your vet next time you go. if you see more and more go to the vet for that and ask.
Reply:If you are really concerned about them then I would consult the vet. This is what I found online.

Non-cancerous tumors

The Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Guide by Delbert Carlson DVM and James Griffin MD, has the following information about tumors that can be seen or felt on the body's surface.

Cysts are common in dogs and can occur all over the body.

Sebaceous cysts are non-malignant lumps up to an inch in size filled with a cheesy material called keratin. Sebaceous cysts should be drained or removed to avoid infection.

Warts may occur in older dogs.

Dogs can also get papillomas, which can look like skin tag or a piece of chewing gum stuck on the skin. They are non-malignant, but if they become irritated or start to bleed, they should be removed.
Reply:Skin tags are just cells that have grown abnormally. Usually they are benign, but rarely the vet will decide to excise them and send them to pathology to ensure they are OK. Ask your vet. Some dogs are just prone to these benign growths. But if you notice that they are forming at a fast rate, then a vet visit is in order.
Reply:its normal I do believe, especially if your dog is older. Ask your vet for sure if its normal or not. I dont believe its neccesary to make an appointment, just call, and ask the nurse/receptionist. Most people who answer the phones at a vets office are nurses. and the people who answered "elbow bones" or "elbows", i pity your stupidity.
Reply:Sometimes warts from CPV will form on the lips and gums or ears. Those go away in a couple of months.

As far as skin tags -- they are harmless, but never go away.

Anal skin tags, can they be removed?

Yes it's embarrasing. I have an anal skin tag due to constipation. The tag itself is 5mm by 2mm. I want it removed but my doc says it can't be removed because if it is it will cause more harm. Is this correct?

Anal skin tags, can they be removed?
Sometimes it can cause more problems to remove them and sometimes they have little blood vessels which would make it more prone that you bleed. I would see another doctor and get there view on it. Write down a list of the pros and cons after seeking medical advice and then base your decision on that. Good luck and don't be embarrased everyone has something that they don't want other people knowing about. At least no one knows about them they are not visible 24/7. Good luck

Moles / Skin Tags in a strange area...?

I'm a natural red-head, fair skinned and have a lot of moles. All my life I would occasionally get a skin-tag on my neck or back and my doctor would remove them, no problems. I haven't been to a doctor since I noticed these things, but I'm starting to get concerned.

On my bikini line and my upper thigh, only on one side of my body, I've noticed a couple of my "existing" moles are all puffed out like they are growing. And its NASTY!...like I could just pull them off, but I won't/can't. I'm also getting "new" moles around my bikini line and on the top part of my private area. And NO, its not some sort of std. They have been steadily growing and spreading over the last six months or so, but now they are at the size where its completely disgusting and uncomfortable.

I've put on about 25-30 pounds over the last couple years, do you think thats why I'm getting them? Perhaps its hormonal? Or skin cancer, but what a weird spot right?

Moles / Skin Tags in a strange area...?
if they are asymmetrical or different colors then you have to worry. Most of the time they are just skin tags and moles nothing Major just annoying. My mother had a skin tag on her upper thigh that she pulled off when wiping and it bleed. If it is bothersome go to the doctor. Most of the time they clip them off in the office.
Reply:I have a beauty mark/mole on my area. My hubby thinks it's sexy. But if they're spreading and getting bigger I'd definitely see a doctor that way if it is cancerous or precancerous you can safely get them removed.
Reply:umm I think the added pounds could be the tourble, consult a doctor
Reply:no, its not a weird spot your body can get things everywhere you just been lucky to have them around your neck..anyways anytime moles are growing rapidly you need to get it checked
Reply:make sure they aren't warts.
Reply:Its happening cause some of these things are caused by excess skin and viruses are known to cause warts and moles!

Do skin tags on the anal area ever shrink and go away due to a chronic fissure?
Ask your doctor, and get a second opinion, before you let any of them operate. And most important; ask for references (past patients that have had simular surgeries) to find out their sucess rates. Also; how many Malpractice lawsuits, have been filed against any of the Doctors you're considering! They don't call it "Practicing Medicine" for no reason!!!!

Can skin tags get smaller?

ok so here is my story.im 18 male and i have a skin tag way under my leg near my groind. Kind of near my balls because they hit it but it is on my leg. I had it quite a long time but it is now starting to bother me. I just came back from florida for vacation and its very humid and hot. So im walking allday and my legs near my groind get irrated but the 1st time it was actually my leg so i put gold bond powder. That seemed like it affected my skin tag and i guess shrunk it. Now i can feel it whenever i move my legs a certain way and it never happened before until a few days ago. i dont want to have it taken off ( yet ) if it gets worse ill consider. But is it common for them to shrink? I got a little little skin tag near the top of my armpit which is about 5 times smaller than the other and no issues with that and i had that 1 most my life. Im not overweight either. real answeers please. And do they fall off by themselves?

Can skin tags get smaller?
have someone tie a white string around it, it will fall off.
Reply:10 points!! good luck. Report It

Reply:no they dont get smaller you have to go to the dermatoligist to have them removed !! i did i hurts alittle but it is worth it . one thing they do come back
Reply:My Dr thinks they are a virus but nobody knows because they don’t do anything. Go get some sharp scissors (like nail scissors) and just pull on it and cut it off.. It may bleed a lot but that is what I do. (this is what she told me to do)
Reply:yes, they can fall off by themselves, but I think rarely. My daughter had one in between her eyelashes that kept growing bigger, so when I took her to the doctor, she freaked out so much when she saw the scissors coming near her, the dr. refused to remove it. By the end of the night she had cried so much, that it just fell off! I've had them, and have never seen them get smaller only bigger. I've had the dr. snip them off and it's very painless and quick. ( i've actually even cut a couple off myself, but am not in any way recommending it ). My mom swears that if you keep putting aloe vera gel on them through out the day they will just fall off. I personally don't have the patience for that. Hope that helps

The remedy is as follows, as per ayurveda

Buy online Kanchnar Guggulu from an ayurvedic pharmacy, and take 250 mg twice a day after lunch and dinner, for 45 days.

IN ayurveda, there is a wonderful treatment called kshar sutra chikitsa, which involves tying a medicate dthread around the growth and tighten it, the thread slowly sinks into growth and separates from the body, without a drop of blood oozing! If you decide to go for this, find a practitioner expert in this treatment.
Reply:The ladies at my work have discussed this, and the consensus is you can remove them yourself. A couple mentioned their dr.s had recommended this. Make sure your scissors or clippers are very sharp and dip them in alcohol.

Hi i went to a gynocologist in december and was told that the bumps near my genitals were skin tags...?

in october i went to a different gynocologist and she said they could be genial warts (HPV) , but i got tested and it came back negative, but i still have to have a biopsy done on one of them, because she did not think they were skin tags or related to heat. What do you think this could be?

Thanks

Hi i went to a gynocologist in december and was told that the bumps near my genitals were skin tags...?
It's fairly common for skin tags to form around your groin area, usually due to your underwear repeatedly rubbing against your skin. It's good to get them checked out to make sure, but skin tags look NOTHING like genital warts so I'm not really sure about what your doctor told you. Anyway, skin tags are completely harmless and can be removed by a dermatologist if they're frequently getting irritated.
Reply:ingrown hair
Reply:The HPV test uses a sample of the cervix not the vulva the HPV test only screens for high risk HPV types genital warts are usually low risk HPV types 6 or 11. There is the chance that you do not have HPV on the cervix but do on the vulva. A doctor can do an HPV test on the biopsies of the skin tag but there is no test that screens just the vulva.

Skin tags are usually found on the skin that has something that is rubbing a collar or a necklace is often the case of skin tags on the neck. Skin folds of the groin can also be a skin tag.

A skin tag may be a low risk HPV type.

The biopsy will give you the answers to your question.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6/11 DNA were found in a high percentage of skin tag biopsy samples obtained from 49 white patients (see Human Papillomavirus). According to the authors of the study, viral infection should be considered as a pathogenic cofactor.

I have several skin tags under my arms and I would love to get rid of them. What is the best way?

What is the best way to get rid of skin tags?
DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!!!

Go to a dermatologist. They can freeze them off in no time at all.

FP
Reply:I always just cut them off with scissors. However, I do know that this isn't really the best idea. They can get infected, and some of them bleed a lot. I will be interested to see some of the other answers.
Reply:Use your teeth and chew them off! LOL!!! Not really, just go to your family doctor and they can take them off within a few minutes, almost painless! Good luck!
Reply:The best way would be medically...have a doctor remove them.

I am not recommending this, but I will share my experience. I have cut them off with razor blades and I have tied them off with thread and then dabbed them with rubbing alcohol regularly. They get sore and fall off. You have denied them a blood supply.
Reply:The best (least painful) way to remove skin tags is to go to a doctor and have them freeze dried off. I know someone who had this done. It seems way less painful than the other way (twisting at them until they turn red and the skin cells eventually die from trauma and they fall off). Doctors can fix those for you in a single visit and you won't need to be knocked out for the procedure.

Hope this helps! :)
Reply:The best way is by clipping them with a sharp sterile scissor right from the root this can be done at your doctors office is fast effective and not painful the procedure takes about 10-30 minutes depending on the amount of skin tags.
Reply:You can pull them out, and have someone tie some thread very tightly around the bottom. It'll cut off the blood supply, and within about 3-4 days, it'll fall off. ~~~
Reply:Minor surgery.

Reply:If they are attached by a very minute amount of skin, you can (very carefully, and with a VERY clean pair of scissors) just snip them off. Afterward, apply some antibiotic cream on it.

I've removed some small skintags while working in a doctor's office. The larger ones do need to be cauterized after removal.
Reply:have a Dr. remove them
Reply:what are skin tags? well dont do anything that your not sure about!
Reply:Go to a dermatologist and get them removed, that is probably the best and healthiest way to get them off. I know some people who cut them off themselves, but I think that would hurt more. I went to a dermatologist to get a wart removed and all they do is, numb wherever you are getting it removed and take a little blade and cut it off, it didnt hurt very much, just a bit.
Reply:Never heard of 'skin tags' in my life...But it seems other people have them too. Maybe I call them something else.....

How do I get rid of unsightly warts and skin tags on my eyelids?

I've noticed over the last few years more and more skin tags and warts appearing on my eyelids and under my eyebrows. Is there a quick and cheap way to get rid of them?

How do I get rid of unsightly warts and skin tags on my eyelids?
See a dermatologist or ophthalmologist, but it won't be covered under insurance because it is cosmetic.

Honestly...I always remove my own skin tags, even off my eyelids. However, I have training and some very sharp, fine scissors that I know how to use!
Reply:i get some nail cutters and clip them off lol
Reply:Some GPs will tackle these for free, so it is worth asking. Unfortunately otherwise it is solely cosmetic and will not be done under the NHS. If you ring your local private hospital they may be prepared to give you a price over the phone.

The areas where my night sweats are, is where my skin tags.appear. Does sweat fertilize them?

Skin tags are on and around my eyes, scalp, neck, chest, groin stomach, arm pits and where ever I sweat. Tag growth increases with night sweat increase. HELP!

what is a skin tag?
Reply:yuk...go to a doctor and get those removed...nanunanu
Reply:Sweat does not encourage their growth, but they perspire in their own right, as well as tending to grow in places from which perspiration does not easily evaporate. The first time I discovered a skin tag, I had a doctor remove it. Nowadays, when I find one, a diagonal cutting pliers disposes of it.

I have the same problem, except I do not have skin tags around my eyes, neck or scalp.

Yes, I definitely believe sweat promotes the growth of skin tags.

I would talk to your doctor or an endocrinologist about some type of medication, or what diet you should be on, in order to either curb or eliminate your night sweats.
Reply:Try washing frequently with a delicate soap, such as Ivory bar soap (the liquid has additives that may exacerbate the problem.) Also use a light dusting of baby powder; too much will form clumps which will make the problem worse. You should be checked by a skin specialist; this is not normal, and you shouldn't have to endure this. I would imagine that the components of sweat act as a food source for pathogenic bacteria which can be a factor in skin eruptions. See a dermatologist! They might want you on a food-elimination diet to rule out food sensitivities and/or allergies. And don't scratch, which can cause skin sensitivity and tears which will lead to infection. Use Aveeno cream as an anti-itch cream until you get this attended to, and polysporin as a broad-spectrum skin antibiotic if necessary. Your doctor should refer you. Good luck...
Reply:Have your dermatologist check them out, she might be able treat or even suggest removing them. It is a very simple and painless procedure to remove them.

Is there an easy way to get rid of skin tags?

My brother is loaded with skin tags. Occasionly he will go to the dermatologist and he'll remove a few dozen, but it's costly and time consuming. I read in a newspaper that some people use Sally Hanson nail hardener to get rid of these skin tags. Does anyone know anything about this and if so, how does it work?

Is there an easy way to get rid of skin tags?
yes it does.I am a certified dermatological tech. what this does when applied is if cuts the air off to the tag and it will dry up and either pull off or fall off with little or no pain.
Reply:Don't know about that but you could try tying a piece of string tight around the bottom of them then eventually they will die and drop off
Reply:I get a lot of these. I clean the area with alcohol and then tie or have someone tie - dental floss very tight at the base of the skin tag. It drps off in a few days. Sometimes I do 10 or 15 at a time. I have not had any bad experience from this.
Reply:i have never seen anything that recommended using a nail hardener on any part of the body besides the nails.

the problem with skin tags is that they generally will reappear even after you've had several removed, and - its genetic, there is no "cure," you're either predisposed to getting them or your not. the safest method of removal is by the dermatologist. my grandmother said she used to tie a piece of string around the tag until it fell off, but again, they just grow back somewhere else.
Reply:I've never heard of a skin tag! What is that?
Reply:I don't know about Sally Hansen products for this condition, BUT, I DO know that my husband had large skin tags. He went to our regular doctor, and she just froze them all off......just gone. They have not come back.
Reply:I not really sure have been trying for quite a while. I have them all over my neck and even a couple on my eyelids. I heard some about using the wart remover that freezes the wart. Not sure of the name. But not sure if it works have not tried it.

Questions re: Diagnosing HPV vs. "Normal" Skin Tags?

Hello,

I'm a 29yo Male. I have no health insurance, so I'm hoping you can answer some questions for me that might help me diagnose whether I have HPV or just normal skin tags.

All told, I have about 6-8 spots I'm concerned about. They are located on the shaft of my penis, th scrotum, and near the thigh. Several sources have indicated HPV will ALWAYS include warts on the TIP of the penis--since I have nothing near the tip, am I OK?

Next, my lesions (?) have been the same for a few years--no growth, nothing new, nothing disappeared. Is that typical of HPV?

Finally, I've read that VINEGAR will turn HPV warts white. I've tried applying common vinegar to myself, and seen no color change. Will HPV warts always react this way?

Thanks. Hope this helps some others, too.

Questions re: Diagnosing HPV vs. "Normal" Skin Tags?
Hey dude .... go to your local health department and have these growths diagnosed by a doctor ... Internet diagnoses could lead to the loss of something near and dear to you if it happens to be cancer.
Reply:Please see the webpage for more details on Genital wart, Genital sores-male and Human papilloma virus.

Genital warts are assumed to be caused by HPV, but other tests can be done to identify whether a person is carrying the virus, including biopsy. However, none has been totally reliable. Scientists say some people may have been told they have the virus when they do not because HPV-type changes may be similar to normal anatomical variations.

What are these marks under my skin? There are tiny blood blisters forming on my skin like skin tags...?

These blood blister marks are kind of like skin tags, but not as projected. I have two on my face, and many smaller ones forming on my abdomin, arms and legs. I also have a bruise like mark on my back. This mark is probably 3/4 inch in diameter. The skin is dark and soft like a bruise, but it doesn't hurt when someone touches it. I have had this mark for at least 3 years.

What are these marks under my skin? There are tiny blood blisters forming on my skin like skin tags...?
People get blood blisters from ballet. I usually spray disinfectant on them and then a band aid. I wouldn't recommend you do this on your face, but t does help.It could always be age spots from being in the sun when you were younger, a lot of people in my family have that because they didn't use sun tan lotion...

Is your doctor a dermatologist? If he isn't then you need to find one, they are the ones who know.
Reply:3 years and you haven't been to a doctor in all that time?

Whatcha think? Time to see one now?
Reply:I don't have the bruise thing, but I have those red things. I asked the doctor about them. He said it's just age and I'll get more.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 50.
Reply:I would check with a dermatologist, that don't sound good.
Reply:First and foremost you must a skin specialist. You may have to carry out pathological tests of your blood, urine and stool (motion). This will help the skin specialist.

The possibilities are that you are having worm infection. There could be others and I do not want to freighten you at the moment.

Reply:HI,you said that you have been to a doctor, but have you been to a dermatologist? You should always get at least two or three opinions especially as you said sometimes doctors are wrong. If it bothers you ,even if it is not painful then you should really check it out.Nobody knows your body like you do,and if you beleive something is wrong then perhaps it is,even if its nothing it must be something or you would'nt be concerned.Stick to your guns and see several different opinions at least until you are satisfied.Take care!
Reply:i have the same things but i bruise easily and take a blood thinner.it sounds like your blood is thinner than normal. do you bleed alot when you get cut?or is it hard to stop bleeding?if you have trouble with excessive bleeding you may not have enough platelets that the body uses to clot the blood when you get cut.do you have these on your arms because when your asleep you could lay on your arm and break a few small veins and they bleed under your skin.if i were you i would go to a specialist who does blood work and get a platelet count done and have a test done on the thickness of your skin. my skin has thinned in a short time and these blood filled areas can be broken easily and the blood leaks out.i also have a problem with bruising and it takes forever for those to disappear.im not trying to scare you but you do seem to have something that is not normal. your too young to be having any health problems but i suggest that you find a reputable doctor who can evaluate why you have these areas filled with small amounts of blood and that bruise on your back has me confused. you might have just backed into something and it didnt hurt but it still bruised.i have done that a few times in my life.i hope all goes well for you and will pray for good news. would you please let me know the outcome of your problem? it could help me and others that have the same or similar problems.

Towards end of pregnancy - why am I getting skin tags?!?

Towards the end of my pregnancy I started getting skin tags - on my breasts. They still lay flat %26amp; aren't that big, but what is causing this? I've never had them before - not even w/ my first pregnancy. I've always been small 95-100 lbs, I've gained between 25-30lbs with this pregnancy. Is it weight gain, hormons, what?

Towards end of pregnancy - why am I getting skin tags?!?
Skin tags aren't a result of weight gain, just one of the LOVELY dermatologic issues that can come with pregnancy. Skin tag removal is an easy, in-office procedure that you usually don't even have to go to a dermatologist for, and they can be done during a regular appointment in the office. If they really bother you, ask your doctor about removing them.
Reply:id say weight gain
Reply:Hormones and usually where the clothes rub against the skin. I always get them around my armpits where the bra connects there. They do go away after the baby is born, but it takes a while. If you are impatient the Doc will cut or freeze them off for you.
Reply:Skin tags are from something rubbing against your skin. It can be the seat belt, clothes, jewelry. Do worry they are very easy to remove and can be done in the doctors office or a dermatologist which ever your PCP prefers. It is not because of the weight at all. My husband wears a 31 inch waist and he gets them because his pants rub him while he is working. Good luck.
Reply:I've just learned they are sort of common. More importantly, your HCP will be monitoring your kidney function. There's some correlation B/W tags and kidney function. Your HPC can give you more info.

How do you get rid of moles, skin tags etc...?

I have a load of moles and skin tags that are raised and I really want to get rid of them, by any means necessary. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

How do you get rid of moles, skin tags etc...?
i have one way but it'll hurt. and imperfections in a way makes us perfect, i doubt you'll understand what i mean...
Reply:Go to a dermatologist to burn off the moles... and see what else you can do..
Reply:My doctor says I can cut my own skin tags off -- as long as they're not too big. It HURTS though!

You really should see a dermatolgist for the moles, though, because they need to be biopsied to be sure they're not cancerous.
Reply:You can lose a skin-tag by tying a cotton thread tightly around it. In a day or two it will fall off.
Reply:Go to your doctor and say one has changed colour or shape recently you will then get sent to hospital to get it removed - you will likely get a scalpel happy surgeon who want to take every mole on your body off.

I wouldn't recommend trying a DIY job.
Reply:I tried the cotton thing didn't work. I was in agony and had real trouble getting the cotton off. See your GP. Much safer
Reply:uh, surgery, dur
Reply:Skin tags yes moles no.

Tie string/cotton round the s/t and in a few days it will fall off.
Reply:Surgery for moles and if they are on your face a good plastic surgeon is the best route. Your GP should be able to freeze your skin tags (like a wart) and cut them off.
Reply:I live in the UK and there have not been any cases of moles and warts for ages because of the cleaner living conditions. You must live in the USA.
Reply:James mate...you're handsome enough with your moles...i mean all the girls want you...and the boys....lol

James
Reply:go to your gp and they will remove them if they are going to cause you any harm. the gp will freeze them then slice them off. its not painful doing it but can hurt a little coming out of the freeze.
Reply:yes u can get skin tags burnt off,a relative of mine had it done but said it nipped a little..and for moles u can have them cut out but it will leave a scar, see ur doctor.

How do you get rid of facial skin tags?

I have skin tags that are coming and growing onto my face and neck. Where do these things come from? How do I get rid of them.? Is it something I am eating.?

How do you get rid of facial skin tags?
the dr can burn them off ..it hurts like hell .. and its stinky too..or you can go another way ..its not quite as painful but it takes a couple of days ..u may need a hand to do this..( maybe a trusting sister )..take a hair ..of your head if its long enough.. and tie it at the base of the tag and tie it into a knot.. in a couple of days it turns black and falls off.. i dont know how safe this is BUT HEY it works
Reply:try akuillan.qhealthbeauty.com
Reply:either cut them off (i like to use nail clippers) or tie a flesh-colored thread around the base of it and trim the ends nice and short. it should fall off in a few days. or you could go to a dermatologist who will charge you big bucks to do the same thing. you could also try one of those kits that use liquid nitrogen (typically for plantar's warts) and freeze the skin tags off.
Reply:Do not try to remove them yourself. Go to a doctor and they will be able to help you.

What is the best way to remove skin tags?

i have a lot of skin tags and i want to no the best way to take them off.and to know if there is some way of stopping them from forming?

What is the best way to remove skin tags?
You would need to see a doctor to have them removed- depending on the size, your doctor may refer you to a dermatologist. They can be frozen or cut off. You should not try to remove them yourself, as they can tend to bleed a lot. As it is not known what causes them, there is no way to prevent them. You can read more about skin tags here

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/...
Reply:Pull them off at the base of them
Reply:I found a site cuz i had one hold on i will find it

Try this
Reply:I think that you should have these removed by your doctor. My husband gets them all the time, and that's what he does. I don't know of any way to stop them from forming, though.
Reply:sk... what? skin tags? I'm not sure I follow! skin tags...
Reply:Ok Derek I'm not being a smarty. Take some fishing line and tie it around the tag. It will just fall off after a couple of days because the blood supply is cut off. Make sure you tie it really tight.
Reply:To remove....Blowdry them....Honestly...Hold the dryer to them till too hot...then cool and repeat afew times!...It really works!

You can also tie a hair around them but it will take a few days for them to fall off and it looks kind of gross

To prevent....Lose some weight.
Reply:tie cotton around them good and tight and leave it till they drop off. Mt doctor suggested this for me and it really works. It stops any blood supply from getting to them and there is no pain involved at all. Bid fiddly to do tho in some places so you may need some help. Good luck!
Reply:Doctors remove skin tags with sharp scissors, a sharp blade or, less commonly, by freezing or burning them off at the stalk. Bleeding can be stopped with a chemical (aluminum chloride) or electric (cauterizing) treatment.

Sorry,There is no way to prevent skin tags! Good Luck!

What's the easiest way to remove skin tags ?

What's the easiest way to get rid of skin tags ? Anyway to get rid of them without going to Dr.

What's the easiest way to remove skin tags ?
tie a string around it tightly. in a few days it will fall off from lack of blood supply.
Reply:tie thread in a knot around it. it cuts off blood circulation to it and eventually falls off
Reply:If it's big enough, have someone pull it, and tie a string TIGHT on the very base of it....it'll hurt a little. Keep it clean with peroxide or something else. It'll die and fall off. I did it with no problems. Cautious ppl will say go to the doc but I say live a little and save a couple hundred bucks.
Reply:if you can get a good grip on it with your fingers Just twist it back and forth daily. It will eventually fall off...... that's what I do ;)
Reply:Something my dermatologist suggested to me: TWIST them off between your fingers! It stings a little and there will be a drop of blood, but nothing you can't handle. You can also use the tip of a lighted match to burn them off. Light the match, blow it out and quickly touch the hot end to the tag. Much more dramatic!

I've heard that skin tags are a form of a herpes virus and they can keep coming back.

Go see a dermatologist...

PS-It WON'T cost a "couple of hundred bucks", especially if you have health insurance that allows you to see a specialist. My cost was $15 a visit to see my dermatologist.

Is there anyway to get rid of skin tags besides going to a doctor?
Rip 'em off, or clip them off with scissors or nail clippers. It only hurts for a minute. Have some antiseptic and a bandaid handy. :-)
Reply:I have cut a couple off with small scissors. It really doesn't hurt, just hard to do. There is not much need in going to a doctor for something so minor.

How do I get rid of skin tags without having a surgical proceedure?

I think they are callled skin tags? Basically they are protruding moles. I know it sounds gross but really I have quite a few of them. Please help.

How do I get rid of skin tags without having a surgical proceedure?
Fulgration or diathermy cuterization is not really a surgical procedure. Or you may get them removed by chemical cautery like silver nitrate.

Good luck!

Do you recommend natural remedies to remove skin moles and skin tags?

I was wondering what you would recommend to remove Skin Moles or Skin tags, going to a dermatologist and having them remove them or trying a natural remedy. If you have used a natural remedy please let me know how it went.

i just used iodine to remove mine and it worked great. it takes about a week. i have little pink circles on my skin now from it but those seem to be fading
Reply:dermatologist, easy, fast and painless
Reply:Nothing I know of to get rid of moles except have a dermatologist burn them off with a laser pen (not usually covered by insurance).

You could take a piece of sewing string and tie it tightly around a skin tag until it dies and falls off...or you could cut it off with a sterilized nail clippers....
